Bellarmine students, faculty, and staff gathered for an assembly held October 14, during which they heard from Doc Hendley, founder and president; and David Cuthbert, CEO; of Wine to Water (www.winetowater.org), a nonprofit organization committed to supporting life and dignity for all through the power of clean water.  After school that day, more than 400 students returned to the Patrick Wayne Valley Memorial Gymnasium to assemble 850 filters that will enable people in Nepal and other countries to have access to clean water.

Local Jesuit school representatives met with U.S. Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D- CA) at her District Office in San Jose on October 7.  Bellarmine College Prep, Santa Clara University, Cristo Rey San Jose Jesuit High School, and Sacred Heart Nativity Schools joined in solidarity to encourage Rep. Lofgren to continue her efforts in asking for immigration policies that honor the human dignity and family unity of migrants, especially asylum-seekers.
