The afternoon of November 6 at the Crystal Springs course, the 2019 Bellarmine cross country program swept all four divisions, setting the all-time course record “in stunning fashion,” noted coach Patrick McCrystle. The Varsity ran 76:10, breaking the 34 year record set by Jesuit High School by 5 seconds. McCrystle provided some conext, as follows: “Since the course opened in the early 1970s, over 20,000 Varsity teams have raced at Crystal Springs, including the greatest teams in the history of Northern California, and as of 4:45:33 pm this afternoon {November 6}, Bellarmine is #1.” For the Bells, the day resulted in four victories, four league titles, four individual race winners, and four almost perfect scores.
