The Bellarmine community was honored to host Bishop Oscar Cantu’ of the Diocese of San Jose as presider of the school’s Holy Week liturgy the morning of April 13.
Organized by Bellarmine’s Campus Ministry team, along with students from the Department of Theatre Arts, the liturgy was a wonderful celebration of the Easter season. The bishop’s homily included his reflection about an iconic 15th century image known as Rublev’s Trinity, one that depicts an open space, as if to convey an invitation for us to take a seat at the table. “Holy Week is the great story of God’s love for humanity,” said the bishop.
At the conclusion of the liturgy, Bellarmine president Chris Meyercord ’88 expressed gratitude to the bishop and to all who planned and participated in the liturgy, and publicly acknowledged Mrs. Kristina Luscher, principal, who announced recently that next academic year she will be principal at Presentation High School.
