Bellarmine Student’s Vision and Compassion Assists Many in Vietnam

Francis Nguyen '23

Francis Nguyen ’23, whose service to others included the mask project last year during the start of the pandemic, has extended his good works internationally.

The Bellarmine student’s father, Hoa, has informed the school that Francis has established a GoFundMe project and has partnered with the nonprofit organization Love the Poor, led by Father Trinh Tuan Hoang, to deliver care packages to families in Vietnam impacted by COVID-19, especially in Ho Chi Minh City (formerly known as Saigon).

Francis’s initial goal of raising $6,000 with the hope of providing care packages to 400 families has been greatly surpassed, with $15,000 in total donations being raised within 3 weeks resulting in assisting 1,000 families in that region.

Per his father, “Francis has been living the ‘men for and with others’ that he learned from his beloved high school, and he continues to seek new ways to help less fortunate people.”
