Bellarmine College Prep (BCP) has formed a partnership with Santa Clara University (SCU) to establish opportunities to train high school students to apply data analytics for applications in biology and biotechnology.
Under the supervision of SCU and BCP faculty, students will develop online modules that expose high school and community college students to the use of statistical analysis and data visualization for a variety of use cases, including: biocatalysis, DNA manipulation, and phylogenetics.
The Genentech Foundation has provided funding and is supporting the efforts to provide students with a lens into compelling biotechnology challenges while creating exposure, skill-building, and professional preparation.
The Biomanufacturing Consortium for Analytics and Data engineering (BioCAD) collaborates with academic and industry partners to develop an asynchronous and modular training program to support data analytics skills training in bioprocessing and business operations and accelerate digital transformation in biomanufacturing.
