BELLS for Others (BFO) distinguishes itself from other volunteer groups as a service organization, led by students, in support of BELLARMINE student activities, sports competitions, and tuition assistance. BFO Opportunities are open to all students. Events requiring help from a specific group or talent are not part of the BFO Program. No post-event credit will be given for serving events not listed on X2Vol and open to all students.
Bells for Others Information
- The opportunities are not eligible for Christian Service credit (which is generally done outside of campus in the local community) but rather, this assistance is for Bellarmine events, sports matches, alumni events, fundraising, dances, and school celebrations.
- Each Bellarmine student is asked to serve 5 hours as a BELL for Others each academic year. This is mandatory for freshmen entering the 2022-2023 school year. To be an eligible candidate for Arrupe Ambassador, a student must volunteer within this program at a minimum of 8 hours each academic year.
- Events are listed on X2Vol by searching “BFO” (Bells for Others) under opportunities. Notifications for upcoming events will be listed in WGOTW, the Bulletin, and occasionally on the Bellarmine FB and Instagram pages.
- Hours are tracked on x2vol to identify service leaders and honor service to Bellarmine (incentives, awards, etc.)
- Applications for our Student Board are accepted through January for the coming academic year.
